Common injury to the knee often involves the menisci (cartilage), medial or lateral collateral ligaments, the cruciate ligaments, the joint capsule and the knee cap. An injury known as a “terrible triad” commonly occurs when for example, in football or rugby the player receives a blow to the outside or lateral aspect of the knee, causing damage to the medial collateral ligament, the medial meniscus and the joint capsule.
At Alpha Clinic we diagnose and treat all of these conditions. If an MRI scan or x-ray is needed, we can refer you for this. If the injury requires the need to see an orthopaedic surgeon then we will advise you of this as well.
